现阶段对弱势群体的社会保护

Social Vulerable Group and Social Protection for the Time Being

现阶段的弱势群体主要包括贫困的农民、进入城市的农民工以及城市中以失业者为主体的贫困人口。现行保护体制不能完全适应新形势,应从扩大就业、保障基本生活、加强法制和工会建设等方面加强对弱势群体的保护。

With deepening reformation and economic transformation in our country, an extremely needy group of population is emerging. It is called Social vulerable group which mainly consists of poor farmers, workers from rural area and unemploymed urban residents. Since economic reformation and opening up, our government has paid particular attentions to this social vulerable group and has also adopted some protection policies for them. However, in today's economic transformation environment, current social protection system can not match the new economic situation and the requirement of this group hardly get satisfied. At present, we should enforce social protection for this group by improving employment, providing basic living needs and protecting their lawful rights and interests.
