十六大报告是新世纪指导教育工作的纲领性文献 ,为教育事业发展指明了方向。十六大提出的教育发展目标 ,为教育系统赋予了艰巨而又光荣的历史使命。教育事业在实践“三个代表”中具有十分重要的作用。按照全面建设小康社会宏伟目标的要求 ,必须进一步加大教育改革发展的力度。教育事业只有与时俱进 ,不断创新 ,才能得到健康、持续发展。
