What is metaphysics? What is the essence of metaphysics and logic? How are they related? What underlies the post-modernist's reaction against positivism and fundamentalism? How does one view all these questions? The paper, based on a historical survey of the relationship between metaphysics and logic, attempts to answer them and meanwhile to examine the metaphysics of Wittgenstein.
