简论汉字形音义的层面关系

A Brief Comment on the Plane Relations of the Shapes, Sounds and Semantics of Chinese Characters

汉字的形音义是三个不同的层面,义处于底层,是内容;音和形处于表层,是两种形式。音是词的听觉形式,字是把词的听觉形式由线条变为平面、由瞬间变为永恒的视觉形式。汉字的形音义三个层面的变化形成了各种复杂的文字现象。

This article, from a philosophic view of content and form, advances that the shapes, sounds and semantics of Chinese characters are three different planes. The semantics stand at the bottom, and are content; the sounds and shapes stand at the surface layer, and are two sorts of forms. The characters are the visual forms of turning the sounds, which are the aural forms of words, from lines into planes, from twinkling into perpetuation. Based on the Theory of Three Planes, this article tries to make new interpretations of some character phenomena in ancient Chinese texts.
