佤族严格禁止同姓成员之间发生性关系,他们认为这种性关系会触怒鬼神,鬼神将因此而对发生这种性关系的同姓人乃至整个村社进行惩罚。婚前或婚外的性关系同样会触怒鬼神而施加各种灾难,男女之间一旦发生违反信仰的性关系,将受到习惯法的严厉惩处。

Wa people strictly prohibit having sex intercourse with people with the same surname.Otherwise,it would offend the deities and the deities would punish the party concerned,even the whole village.The pre-marriage or out of marriage sex intercourse would also make the deities angry,and the party concerned would suffer from disasters.Moreover,they would be punished severely by the common law.
