The sheep is one of the earliest domestic animals to have a close relationship with many different ethnic groups,and its contribution to social development is clearly expressed in their various languages and cultures.As this is the 'Year of the Sheep',the sheep has become the 'star' on many occasions.This is especially so in commercial and entertainment circles,where the sheep has attained a godlike status.However,associating the sheep with auspicious events is only a naive human desire.The significance of the sheep and the concept of a 'sheep culture' must be correctly understood in order to promote the healthy development of all ethnic cultures.
