The Song Dynasty is a period of highly developed culture in Chinese ancient history. Compared with the banning materials in the previous dynasties, those in the Song Dynasty bear such features as large number, wide range, various means, etc.. It is an important period in the history of Chinese banning materials. The author gives an overview of the banning materials in the Song Dynasty and analyzes them according to the classifications. 
