In his memoir 'An Ontheshot Re cord of Mr. Ma Yinchus Refuting Kong Xiangxi Face to Face', Pan Lun narrates in details the historical incident that Ma Yinchu contradicts Kong Xiangxi strongly at the annual conference of China Economic Society in the autumn of 1939. The article has been quoted as something true by many writers and has exerted deep influence in the field of study concerning Ma Yinchu and Kong Xiangxi. Yet after careful textual research, the author proves that there is actually no 'Mas Refuting Kong' in history.
