The Influence of Ecological Environment on the Custom Culture of the Qidan in the Liao Dynasty

生态环境与民族习俗文化的关系十分密切。辽代东北地区独特的自然地理条件 ,对生活在这里的契丹人的生活与习俗文化产生了重大影响——草原环境孕育了契丹人与畜牧相关的习俗文化 ,山 (林 )水(畔 )环境孕育了契丹人与渔猎相关的习俗文化。而受辽代东北地区冬季漫长、寒冷而多雪的气候条件的影响 ,又使契丹人的习俗文化生发出了许多与气候特性相关的“特质”内容 ,使其更具地域性特征。

There is a close relationship between the ecological environment and the national custom culture. The unique natural and geographical condition in northeast China of the Liao Dynasty had great influence on the custom culture of production and life of the Qidan people living there and contributed a lot to the formation of their specific customs, such as those related with animal husbandry, with fishing and hunting, and with the cold weather.
