A Comprehensive Study on Bilingual Education

从社会语言学和语言教学的角度回顾了双语教育的发展史 ,对当今世界各国双语教学的不同模式进行了客观评述 ,分析了不同模式在不同要求的双语社会中的教学目的和优势所在 ,提出了在不同的双语教学模式中的二元文化导入问题 ,强调了双语教育规划中的师资培养目标 ,同时也讨论了双语教育的必备条件和发展前景。

This paper reviews the historical growth of bilingual education from the sociolinguistic aspect, comments on the different models,and analyses their societal aims and advantages in different bilingual societies throughout the world. It also puts forward the importance of biculture input in bilingual education, emphasizes the teachers' quality training for bilingual program and finally discusses the prospects of development of bilingual education.
