Popper's Falsificationism and Economic Methodology

Karl Popper's falsificationism had great impact on postwar economic methodology in the west, yet its defects have manifested themselves in the literature on economic methodology. The tensions both within his philosophy of natural science and between his philosophy of natural science and social science constitute serious problems for the falsificationist economic methodology. However, negative valuation on falsificationist economic methodology does not mean economic methodologists cannot get anything insightful from Popper's philosophy.
