春秋前期贵族宗法秩序解体,“诸夏”共同体形成,这一变化使古代贵族社会在灭亡前夕出现一次中兴。这次中兴深刻影响了春秋时的历史变局,不仅缓和了中原战乱,为中原各城邦国家过渡到郡县制度作好了准备,而且使贵族观念发生重大变化。贵族的精神立足地从宗庙信仰转移到“诸夏”共同文化,并逐渐发展出一种风格独特的古典人文思想。这一思想变化的最后结果是导出了原始儒学。

The disintegration of the patriarchal system of the nobility and the formation of the Union of the Vassal States in the early days of the Spring and Autumn Period resulted in the revival of the disintegrating noble society before it passed into history. This revival had a profound influence on the history of the Spring and Autumn Period, brought peace to large areas of central China, made preparations for the transition from city states to the prefecture/county system , and caused great changes in the ideologies of the nobility. The spiritual foundation of the nobility changed from the belief in the ancestral temple to the belief in the common cultures of the vassal states, gradually resulting in a unique humanitarian thinking, which was to bring in primitive Confucianism.
