Pragmatic Translation Should Be Correspondent with Communicative Translation

语用翻译是一种新兴的翻译理念 ,它把语用学理论创造性地应用到翻译中 ,从而形成了这种跨学科的翻译观。随着语用学的发展 ,语用翻译理论也在不断成熟。本文首先运用 Verschueren的语境动态顺应论来分析翻译过程 ,以此说明如何准确理解和传达原文的隐含意义 ,继而实现翻译中的语用等效是语用翻译的本质特征。然后运用 PeterNewmark关于语义翻译和交际翻译的理论来衡量语用翻译 ,从而证明语用翻译应该与交际翻译相对应 ,而不是与语义翻译相对应。

Pragmatic translation is a new interdisciplinary translation concept, which creatively promotes the use of pragmatic theories in the translating process. With the development of pragmatics, its theory of translation is becoming more and more mature. In this paper, the process of translation will be firstly analyzed according to Verschueren's theory of dynamic adaptability of contextual correlates so as to show how to grasp implicit meanings of the source text and how to convey them perfectly in the target language. To achieve that pragmatic equivalence in the translation is the basic characteristic of pragmatic translation. Then pragmatic translation is measured against Peter Newmark's theory of communicative and semantic translation in order to prove that pragmatic translation should be correspondent to communicative translation, not to semantic translation.
