In 2003, Vietnam enjoyed its social and political stability, a fast growing economy, and the loud applause from the international community for its success in controlling SARS. Meanwhile, it quickened its pace in entering world economy and made new progress in its foreign relations. In spite of certain problems and challenges in its stability and development, on the whole, 2003 was a year of both internal and external success.
