Foundation treatment for tube elements is the key process in the tunneling by immersed tube method. In this paper, based on the foundation treatment for the tube elements in the tunneling by immersed tube method on the external ring of Shanghai, the mechanism and the experiment of sand injection are explained, the construction sequence, technology, method of safety and quality control are introduced. Finally, the settlements of the elements are analyzed.
