摘要
介绍了一种基于液晶技术的可变光衰减器(VOA)的原理,提出了设计方案,并对器件性能进行了测试。结果表明:器件可实现小于1dB的插入损耗,提供0~30dB的动态衰减范围,小于0.1dB的分辨率,响应时间小于50ms。
The principle of variable optical attenuators(VOA) based on liquid-crystal is introduced. A design project of the device is proposed and the performance is evaluated. The experimental results show that this attenuator has less than 1 dB fiber-to-fiber insertion loss, with the attenuation range of 0~30 dB, attenuation resolution of 0.1 dB and the responding time of less than 50 ms.
