The Annex VI of MARPOL73/78, which is the regulations about prevention of air po llution from the exhaust of marine diesel engine, is going to coming into force. After introducing briefly about this Annex and its technical requirements, this paper presents in detail the research progress of emulsion/catalyst combustion as one of the technology bases.
