习语由于其丰富的文化负载,历来是翻译工作中的难点。可译还是不可译?怎样译?译界更是众说纷纭。本文以关联理论与有关等值原则的理论为指导,讨论了关于习语翻译中所碰到的文化负载问题,分析了有关习语可译性问题与如何有效地应用翻译技巧处理习语的翻译问题。

Idioms, because of their cultural loading, has been the biggest obstacles in translation. The problems of translatability and untranslatability and how to do the translation, as opinions vary, haven't been drawn unanimous conclusion. This article, guided by the relevance theory and equivalence principle, discusses the problem in translating the idioms with cultural loading between English and Chinese. It also analyzes the translatability of idioms and the techniques in dealing with them.
