The Management of Urban Regeneration and Conservation in China: A Case of Shanghai

摘要中国社会经济的飞速发展带来了大规模的城市改造。如何协调城市改造和城市保护之间的关系对于城市规划管理部门是一项艰巨的任务。Conzen根据城市形态学理论提出的城市景观管理理论被西方学者广泛运用于分析和评价城市改造和建设所引起的城市景观改变和相应的规划管理。通过运用城市景观管理理论和针对具体建设项目的实证研究的研究方法,作者推理出了一种方法论体系用于研究中国对于城市改造和城市保护的规划管理。 China has experienced a large-scale urbanregeneration following its rapid socio-economicdevelopment. To manage the relationship betweenurban regeneration and urban conservation hastherefore become a hard job for planning authorities.Conzen's theory of townscape management, which isbased on urban morphological studies, has been widelyadopted by western scholars in analyzing andevaluating the planning and management of urbandevelopment and of the change of urban landscape. Inreference to Conzen's theory and by use of the detailedcase study m-ethod, the author proposes amethodological framework for the study of theplanning and management of urban regeneration andconservation in China.
