Mad Women in Antique House——A Feminist Study of The Tale of the Golden Chain and A Rose for Emily

《金锁记》和《献给爱米丽的玫瑰》并没有任何事实联系。将两部作品置于比较阅读的地位,意在另辟蹊径,探讨两位悲剧主人公疯狂、疯狂的原因以及疯狂反抗的局限性。并希望在探讨其相似性原因的过程中,达到两个目的:帮助人们进一步加深对这两个艺术形象的理解;促使人们深思女性的命运和价值建构。

There is no factual connection between these two novels, The Tale of the Golden Chain and A Rose for Emily, however, they are similar in their depicting of two mad women. By comparing the two novels, this article tries to analyze the shaping of these two mad women and the reasons of their inevitable madness as well as the shortcoming of their crazy protests. In addition, the article aims at achieving two objectives by discussing their similarities to help people have a deeper understanding of the two characters and a better thinking of women's lives and value construction.
