SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF LINEAR AND CROSSLINKED DIMETHYLDIALLYLAMMONIUM CHLORIDE POLYMERS

Linear homopolymer of dimethyldiallylammonium chloride(DMDAAC)and crosslinkcd copolymers of DMDAAC with tetraallylammonium or triallylmethylammonium chloride (TAAC or TAMAC) as the comonomer/crosslinker are prepared by using procedures of free-radical cyclyzation-polymerization reactions in aqueous solutions. The syntheses of TAAC, TAMAC, and homo- and copolymers of DMDAAC are described. Their IR and ~1HNMR spectra and TG-gramme are presented and discussed.
