On Keeping Pace with the Times and the Theoretical Innovation of the Third-Generation of CPC Leaders

20世纪最后10年,世界形势发生了重大变化,现代科技革命迅猛发展,经济全球化浪潮席卷全球,东欧剧变、苏联解体,为社会主义国家执政党建设提供了教训。第三代领导集体在新的历史条件下,坚持理论创新,丰富和发展了邓小平理论,提出了"三个代表"重要思想,使中国共产党能够在国际风云变幻、社会主义运动处于低潮时期站稳脚跟,加快发展。

Great changes took place in the last ten years of the 20th century. There appeared not only a quick development of modern science and technology and economic globalization but also a dramatic change in East Europe and the disintegration of the Soviet Union which taught a lesson to the parties in power in socialist countries. In this new situation, the third-generation leaders of CPC have adhered to some theoretical innovation, enriched Deng Xiaoping Theory and put forward the 'Three Represents Thought', which helps CPC stabilize and develop itself when facing some changes and difficult problems.
