英、汉时空隐喻认知比较

A Cognitive Comparison of Metaphor of Time and Space in English and Chinese

从日常生活语料中取材,对英、汉时空隐喻进行共性与个性的分析,并进一步阐述英、汉时空隐喻取象、认知的共性与个性。时空隐喻的共性源于人类思维与生活体验的共通性,而个性差异则源于不同的社会环境、风俗习惯、哲学思想、文化背景等。时空隐喻是共性与个性的统一。本文的研究有助于在外语教学中学生对文本的深度理解,同时使学生增进了解语言、文化、认知三者的关系。

Based on the materials of daily life, this paper manages to analyze the general character and individuality of metaphors of time and space in English and Chinese. It tries to elaborate the general character and individuality of image and cognition of metaphors. The general character of metaphors of rime and space comes from the common senses of thoughts and life experience of human beings, while the individuality comes from the differences of social environment, customs, philosophy ideology, cultural background and so on. The metaphors of time and space in English and Chinese are the unification of general character and individuality. The research of this paper can help the students understand texts more deeply in foreign language teaching, and it can also help the students have more understanding of the relationship among language, cul lire and cognition.
