This paper introduces the characteristics of 6kV electric networ k of Chinese Aluminum Company Shanxi Branch, puts forward the problems and hidden troubles existing in the methods of extinction coil compensating capacitance and current of 6kV electric network currently, describes the working principles and the application points of ZGTD auto- resonance- extinction coil briefly, and looks forward to the future of the application of the auto- resonance- extinct ion coil used in the electric network.
