To advance with the time is the spiritual character of Marxists as well as the theoretical character of Marxism. Since the Party workers at basic level are just on the front to strengthen and improve the Party construction, and to reinforce our Party's ruling position, it's significant to establish the spiritual character——to advance with the time. Beginning with the explanation of the basic meaning of this kind of spiritual character, this article expounds the importance and necessity to establish such a character and points out the fact that, to establish the spiritual character, it's necessary to deal well with the following relationships: the relationship between the offensive plans and defensive tactics of idea construction in ideas and work, the relationship between part and overall situation of organization construction, the relationship between reinforcement and innovation in system construction, and the relationship between discussing principles and dealing with concrete matters in working style construction.
