On the Change Between Self-revealing Temper and Self-concealing Temper of Ancient Poets

宋代以前,诗人性情鲜明,表现突出,是因为时代对它的肯定较多,由此造就了许多艺术精品;宋代开始,诗人受到社会的调节,情性逐渐隐没,由此使得一部分诗歌没有特色。它对古代诗歌的衰落起了较大的作用。

Thanks to the affirmations of the times, before Song dynasty, poets usually had very distinct and self-revealing temper and also had outstanding achievements with a lot of excellent works. Since Song dynasty, poets were regulated by the society, and their temper was gradually concealed, consequently, some poems lost their distinguishing features, which led to the decline of ancient poems to a great degree.
