Engels's Scientific Attitudes towards Marxism——Thoughts on Jiang Zemin's Theory that the Party Should Progress with Time

江泽民同志在“七·一”重要讲话中指出 :“马克思主义具有与时俱进的理论品质”。这一科学论断 ,体现了当代中国共产党人对马克思主义科学性的新认识。被誉为“第二小提琴手”的恩格斯在创立马克思主义的过程中 ,以历史实际为根据 ,在对待马克思主义的创新和发展问题上 ,表现出与时俱进的理论品质。认真学习恩格斯这种对待马克思主义的科学态度对我们深刻理解江泽民同志“七·一”重要讲话具有现实意义。

Party Secretary-general Jiang Zemin pointed out in his July 1 speech: 'theoretically communism has a quality of progressing with time'. The speech shows that the Chinese communists today have a new understanding of the scientificity of Marxism. When Marxism was founded, Engels, the 'second violinist', bestowed upon Marxism the quality of progressing with time with his far-sighted elaboration on the innovation and development of Marxism. A conscientious study of Engels' attitudes towards Marxism is conducive to a better understanding of Jiang Zemin's July 1 speech.
