陇东岁时习俗并不是一种单纯的习俗,而是人类早期的观念、信仰、仪式等诸种文化因素的积淀物,我们可以透过这种习俗看到远古人类对大自然的崇拜,对祖先神灵的崇拜以及他们用以与自然作斗争的仪式与禁忌。

Yearly local customs in the eastern part of Gansu Province is not only a kind of simple custom but also of sediment of many cultural factors such as ideas, beliefs and ceremonies in the early stage of the human beings, from which we can see, in remote antiquity, the human race's worship to nature, ancestors and gods, and the ceremonies and taboos with which they fought against nature.
