Dialectical Relations Between Domestication and Foreignization

就翻译中的两种不同手段———归化和异化作了探讨 ,认为考虑到不同的翻译目的、文本类型、作者意图以及读者对象 ,以上两种方法都能在目的语文化中完成各自的使命 ,都有存在的价值。它们不是互相排斥的对抗性概念 。

This paper explores two common approaches used by translators in translation, namely, domestication and foreignization. The author believes that both methods may be justified in their own right if we take into consideration the differences in the purpose of translation, the type of texts, the intention of the author and the readership. They are not opposite conceptions, but supplementary translation strategies and methods.
