中国现代文学史上的著名作家沈从文 ,以善于抒写人性而著称。沈从文写人性 ,并没有波澜壮阔的场景 ,也没有汹涌澎湃的激情 ,他常常是平静地、朴实地描写一般人的生活 ,通过人物行动和对话 ,把人性中最动人和最美好的一面表达得淋漓尽致而催人泪下。《菜园》就是沈从文这类作品中的一部短篇小说。
