论“西方马克思主义”的当代意义——从与后现代主义对立的视角看

An Analysis of the Contemporary Significance of "Western Marxism" from the Anti-postmodernist Perspective

由于长期以来没有把“西方马克思主义”置于与后现代主义相对立的背景下来加以认识 ,所以其对当代人的积极意义一直未被揭示出来。生态学的马克思主义与后现代主义的抗衡根源于整个“西方马克思主义”传统。“西方马克思主义”和后现代主义的出现都源于对现代性理念和现代化运动的负面效应的愤然不满和激情批判 ,但这是沿着两种不同的路向所展开的激情批判 ,从而在激情批判中所建立的也是两种大相径庭的理论体系。“西方马克思主义”把对现代性和现代化运动负面效应的批判变成了对社会主义价值目标追求的必然性的论证 。

The positive significance of Western Marxism for today's people has not been brought to light because 'Western Marxism' has not been considered in the perspective of Anti postmodernism for a long time. Both 'Western Marxism' and Postmodernism are rooted in the indignant discontent and passionate critique of the idea of modernity and the modernization movement, but they followed two different directions and thereby established two divergent theoretical systems. The positive significance of 'Western Marxism' lies in the fact that it does not attribute side effects of the idea of modernity and the modernization movement to the idea and the movement themselves, and strongly claims their combination with socialism rather than capitalism, thus turning the critique of the negative effects of modernism and modernization movement into the verification of the pursuit of socialist values. This kind of positive significance of 'Western Marxism' is derived from its comprehension of the genuine spirit of Marxism. On the other hand, it facilitates the integration of the fundamental theories of Marxism with the demands of the epoch. Therefore, this positive significance is that of Marxism itself.
