“四·一二”政变后，一批革命文化人从各地陆续聚集到上海。在转入地下活动的中国共产党中央的领导下，他们消除分歧，于1930年后相继成立了中国左翼作家联盟(简称“左联”)、中国左翼戏剧家联盟(简称“剧联”)等革命文艺组织。他们在文学、戏剧、电影、音乐、美术诸多领域，开展马克思主义思想的学习与宣传、从事无产阶级革命文艺作品的创作，深入学校、工厂、农村演出，形成了一支蓬勃发展的左翼文艺大军。 1932—1936年初的中国左翼音乐运动中，左翼音乐家在中国共产党的直接领导下，深入中国工农群众的社会生活，在与中外反动派的殊死革命斗争实践中锻炼成长。他们以马克思主义思想为指导，继承发扬“五四”新文化运动传统，学习借鉴苏联等国家进步歌曲的创作经验。在中国民族民间音乐的沃土上，以新的世界观与创作手法，创作了一大批反映时代精神、民族呼声并流传至今的新颖歌曲。他们通过辛勤的劳动，以自己的智慧、生命和热血，开创了中国革命群众歌曲创作的新时代，作出了自己的历史贡献。 左翼音乐运动中培养的音乐人才，创作的众多著名歌曲，成立的组织机构和社会团体，都为其后抗日救亡群众歌咏运动的兴起，抗日战争、解放战争以及新中国音乐事业的发展，奠定了重要的基础。我们现在?

After the 'April 12 Coup d'Etat', a large number of revolutionary artists came to Shanghai from various parts of China. Under the direct leadership of the temporarily underground Communist Party of China, they established. in succession since 1930, the LeftWing Writers'League of China, the Left-Wing Dramatists'League of China and other revolutionary organizations of artists. In many dimensions such as literature,drama,film,music and fine art,they were engaged in studying and propagating Marxist thoughts,in creating artistic works for the proletarian revolution,and performing in schools,factories and countryside,and thus formed a flourishing Left-Wing artists'force.During the Left-Wing Music Movement in China from 1932 to early 1936,Left-Wing musicians,under the direct leadership of the Communist Party of China,went deep to the social life of the Chinese workers and peasants,and grew up in the forge of severe revolutionary struggle against Chinese and foreign reactionaries. Guided by the Marxist thoughts,they carried forward the traditions of the 'May 4th New Culture Movement', and learned from composition experience of those progressive songs from countries such as the Soviet Union. Based on the rich traditions of the Chinese ethnic and folk music,they created,in their brand new outlook and composition methods,a great number of new songs which reflect the spirit of the times and the aspiration of the nation, and which came down even to this day. They made their historic contribution by ushering in the new era of revolutionary song composition for the masses in China.The music talents trained during the Left-Wing Music Movement,those well-Known songs composed in the period,as well as the organizations and social groups established then, all these laid important foundation for the emergence of succeeding anti-Japanese public singing movements and the development of the music cause during the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War and that of the New China. Here lies the historical significance of commemorating the Left-Wing Music Movement today.
