The Patterns of Old-Age-Care in Ethnic Communities——A Case Study of Ethnic Villages in Yunnan

老龄化带来的养老问题,是关系国家长治久安的一个重大社会问题。云南少数民族对老人的赡养是建立在各自不同的文化背景上的,表现出不同的特殊性,所形成的养老传统,是一种民族习俗与外来文化、历史传统与现代文明、民族共性与族群特性相结合的产物,其中积极的做法、经验以及存在问题值得深入研究。

Old-age care along with aging has become an important issue concerning the security of the nation. In ethnic communities of Yunnan, old-age-care, established in the unique cultural background, takes on special features. It results from the combination of the inside customs with those of the outside, historical tradition with civilization, and ethnic commonalities with ethnic specialties. It is of great merit to conduct further researches on the positive practices and the good experiences as well as problems concerning old-age-care.
