The preparation methods and development of water-superabsorbents from starch grafting acrylic acid were summarized in this paper. The principle of preparation, factors of effecting preparation and synthesis methods including batch aqueous solution polymerization, continuous polymerization, inverse suspension polymerization technique were introduced. The development direction of superabsorbent polymers in future was shown.
