鲁迅反对科举制度,厌恶科举考试,但他却在南京求学期间回乡参加过一次县考,在成绩很不错的情况下,他又放弃了继续考下去的机会。对此,鲁迅自己在其一生撰述中从未提及。经考证,鲁迅参加县考和放弃继续考下去的机会,原因均较复杂,既有来自客观方面的压力,也有来自主观方面的动力和追求。

Lu Xun opposes and even hates Official Examination, but during his study in Nanjing, he once went back home and took part in a county-leveled one. He gave up the further examination though got fairly good marks. Lu Xun never mentioned this in his autobiography.According to the research, the reasons for Lu Xun's participation of the Official Examination and his later giving up are complicated, the objective pressure and subjective elements such as motivation and pursuit can explain this.
