A Major Cause for the Desertification of Grasslands——With the Drastic Desertification of Hulunbuir Grasslands as a Case Study

草原荒漠化的成因,除了自然原因外更有多种人为原因。近20年来,草原荒漠化十分严重,主要是人为因素造成的,其中草原开垦及其背后的人口过快增长是一个重要原因。草原减负,转移草原超载人口和调整养畜规模,这是从根本上治理草原荒漠化的一个重要前提,也是最具长远战略意义而又能保障可持续发展的一项措施。

There are lots of causes of grassland desertification. Besides the natural factors, it is more concerned about the anthropogenic factors. In recent twenty years, grassland desertification has been extremely serious. In many anthropogenic factors, reclamation of rangeland and high-speed population growth are the important causes for it. Lightening the burden of grassland, transferring the overloaded people and readjusting the herd scale are the significant prerequisites of harnessing grassland desertification, meanwhile it is the important measure which has a long-term strategic significance and can ensure the sustainable development of the region.
