As a result of textual research of Tao's humble greeting to his superiors and his family economics, we can infer that Tao's resignation in Pengze owes much to his disgust at the trivialities in the officialdom because he professed to be above politics and worldly considerations and to the influence of the recluses' behavior in the East and West Jin Dynasties.
