摘要 模糊限制语表示的是不确定性、临时性和可能性的意义 ,它们的使用通常被看作学术写作中的惯例。文章通过对著名的英语医学期刊中原创性科研论文的实证性分析 ,从人际功能的视角探讨模糊限制语 ,发现模糊限制语是学术语篇中重要的人际修辞资源 :它们可以表达礼貌与敬意、态度和自我保护等。 Hedging is an important linguistic phenomenon, which expersses uncertainty, tentativeness and possibility. This paper investigates hedges in academic discourse from the perspective of interpersonal function. Based on the analysis of research articles in famous English medical joumals, it finds that academic writers employ them to express so;iteness,attitude of negotiation and self-protection, etc.
