In A Bend in the River V. S. Naipaul, a postcolonial writer shows us how a group of intellectuals suffer in an alien world and reveals a true historical fact that there lies a violent conflict between indigenous culture and foreign culture. He also makes an in-depth analysis and exploration of the rootlessness of modern man in such cultural situations.
