On Priciples of Easten and Western Politeness

本文简要介绍了Leech和顾曰国的礼貌原则,指出礼貌是成功交际的重要因素,并从语言学的角度对比了中西文化范畴中交际原则的异同。

Different Politeness Principles of Leech and Gu Yue-guo are briefly introduced in this essay. Politeness is considered one of the most important factors of successful communication. Similarities and differences of politeness principles in eastern and western cultures are illustrated as well.
