Translation involves complicated psychological activities, both conscious and sub-conscious. As regards the former, a translator is very often under the influences and the restraints of the external factors (the publisher, the original author, the TL-reader, etc.) and the internal factors (translators?individual interests, experiences etc.); however, for sub-consciousness, these influences and restraints play a vague role in translation process. This paper, from the perspective of literary translation, explores the negative effects of translators?sub-conscious factors on the faithfulness of the translated text, and further explores some deep reasons of translators?biased errors made in translation.
