The fault electric arc in switchgear can cause maximum harm to personal and safety operation of equipment, which has a-roused the high solicitude of society. This paper introduces the reality of fault electric arc endangers, the newest regulation of fault electric arc test issued by IEC, the preventive measures of fault electric arc, and a kind of fault protective device of electric arc.
