摘要
威廉·福克纳是一位注重探索小说创作形式和艺术手法的美国现代主义作家,他的小说往往通过对叙事技巧的成功把握来展现作品的内容和意义。本文以其短篇小说《献给艾米丽的玫瑰》为范本,从叙事学的角度,着重分析这篇小说在叙事时间上的特征,以及这一特征对于表现小说主题的特殊意义,并由此来探讨该小说的思想内涵和艺术价值。
Faulkner was an American modernist author who paid much attention to explore how to creat novel's form and utilize artistic technique. He always revealed his works' content and significance by successfully using narrative skill. From the theory of narrative,this article regards his short story A Rose for Emily as an example to try only to analyze the narrative time's trait of the story and its special significance for manifesting the story's theme, and from this to probe into the connotation and artistic value of the story.
