On Natural Philosophy Nature of Traditional Chinese Medicine

中医理论是自然哲学性质的医学。中国古代自然哲学概念直接构成中医的理论概念。“粗守形、上守神”的中医理论思维追求说明中医在理论上注重对医学问题本身的形而上本质的研究。中医理论用感性名词概括抽象医学理论,是古代自然哲学朴素性的表现,也是中医理论从形而上直接走向临床应用的桥梁。中医理论的辩证施治原则充分体现了古代自然哲学的辩证法性质。

Traditional Chinese medicine is a natural-philosophized medicine. The ideas of ancient natural philosophy have made up the theories and concepts of traditional Chinese medicine directly. 'Cu shou xing, Shang shou shen', one of the theories of traditional Chinese medicine, shows that traditional Chinese medicine attaches primary importance to the study of metaphysical essence of medical matters in theory. Traditional Chinese medicine generalizing abstract medical theories with perceptual terms materializes the simplicity of ancient natural philosophy. Meanwhile, it is also a bridge through which traditional Chinese medicine can be directly applied in clinics from metaphysics. Moreover, 'Bian zheng shi zhi', another theory of traditional Chinese medicine, also embodies the dialectic ideas of ancient natural philosophy.
