元代的军器生产

Weapon Production in Yuan Dynasty

军工生产是元代官手工业的主要部门之一,从事兵器制造的官府局院及工匠占有相当比例。中央武备寺所属军工局院主要集中在腹里一带,地方则设杂造局,因地制宜生产各种军事物资。除了系官工匠和军匠外,军户也有生产军需品的义务,但严禁民间私造兵器。元代的武器种类不如宋代那么繁多,但吸取了中西兵器之长,多有发明,质量上乘且实用,在当时世界上居于领先地位。

Production of defense industry was one of the major handicraft sectors operated by the government in Yuan dynasty, and governmental organizations and craftsmen engaging in producing weapons occupied the high percentage. Besides governmental and military craftsmen, military family members were also responsible for producing military supplies. But it was forbidden for other people to produce weapons privately. The weapon types of Yuan dynasty were not as various as those in Song dynasty, but they possessed the advantages of Chinese and western weapons, such as some innovations, high quality, practical characteristic, and etc.
