在回顾地理信息系统40年来发展历程基础上,从哲学角度,分析了人类生产实践、现代科学技术及社会需求在地理信息系统产生与发展中的作用,揭示了地理信息系统发展过程中连续性与阶段性相统一和分化与综合相统一的发展规律.通过回顾与思考,旨在对当前的科学研究有所启示和帮助,进一步推动地理信息系统科学的发展.

Based on the review of GIS progress over last 40 years, the paper analyzed the effects of production practice, science and technology and social demands to the appearance and progress of GIS technology in the viewpoint of philosophy. The development laws of the unification between continuity and phase and the unification between differentiation and synthesis are discussed in this paper. It gives us some inspiration to promote the scientific research and GIS development in the future.
