我们在何种意义上遵循自然是生态伦理学研究中的一个重要的理论问题。在这个问题上,以"自然"概念作为逻辑起点的研究所给出的一个结论是,在人为的意义上,人无论如何都无法遵循自然。但是,如果我们把逻辑的起点由"自然"转换为"人"时,我们就会发现,正是在人为的意义上才存在一个遵循自然的问题。以"自然"概念作为逻辑起点的讨论,显然忽视了人作为人的特殊的存在方式及意义,因为,人本质上是一个自我决定的文化存在物,人就只能以这种方式遵循自然。由此,也就使这种意义上的遵循内在地具有了一个普遍的伦理向度。

In what sense we follow nature is an important theoretical problem in the study of ecological ethics. One conclusion on this problem drawn from the research having the concept of nature as the logical starting point is that man can follow nature by no means in the sense of human efforts. But if we turn the logical starting point from nature to man, we will find that it is in the sense of human efforts that there exists the problem of following nature. The discussion from the logical departure of nature obviously neglects the special way and meaning of the existence of man as man because man is a self-determined cultural existent by nature and only in this way can man follow nature. Therefore, this sense of following internally obtains a general ethic tendency.
