A frame of reference is stressed and advocated in conducting some studies in social science. That is to say, when applying the historic materialism in studying various historical, political economics or culture phenomena of a society, a concrete analysis based on productive forces is of primary importance, while in the past it was customary to carry out class analysis only. In fact, the class differences, the historic rule of class divisions in human societies are all stemmed from and determined by the development of productive forces. Within the frame of productive force analysis, one can understand easily and study many problems now the society of contemporary China is facing. Moreover, based on productive force analysis, one can understand the trend in the political economic development of the developed countries. It may help also to understand and how to handle with many problems occurring in our country.
