A brick-structured water tower under complicated environmental conditions was demolished by the use of directional blasting. The determination of blasting parameters, as well as a series of safety precautions and technological measures were introduced, such as the pretreatment, increase in reliability of the priming circuit, protection of the water pipe, and measures of controlling fly rocks.
