“叫”的兴起与“教”的衰落

The Rise of 叫 and the Decline of 教

从汉末至明中叶 ,“教”一直是口语中最常用的使令性动词。后来 ,随着“叫”的广泛应用 ,“教”逐渐衰落 ,最终被“叫”取代。这主要是由于“教”在词义来源、语法形式、尤其是语音上的局限导致的。

From the end fo Han Dynasty to the middle of Ming Dynasty,教remained the most frequently used oral causative verb. Later with the wide use of 叫,the use of 教 declined and was finally replaled by 叫. This results from the limitations of the word 教 in source of meaning,grammatical form and pronunciation in particnlar.
